Summer Event Registration

a little about us

No matter who you are or where you come from, if you are in 6th-12th grade you are welcome at @First Youth. We are a place where teenagers can explore their faith and find a community of peers and leaders to walk alongside during the best (and worst) parts of their Middle & High School years. We welcome you to explore offerings at Salina First United Methodist Church.

Partner With Parents

Our plan is to partner with parents to help them raise their families in the Christian faith.

We know that middle and high school students are busier than ever - our goal is to create environments in the midst of their busy weeks where they can encounter the Living God and grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Welcome to @First Youth!

What is MYF

MYF is our weekly ministry at First UMC for students 6-12th grade. MYF is loaded with games, friends, small groups, and a message geared towards students and their everyday life. Our goal is to create an experience where students can meet Christ and grow in their relationship with Him.

Every student who walks through our doors is greeted by a group of excited people ready to welcome you to another heart-pumping night at MYF! If it is your first visit, that’s awesome. You’ll be directed to a Scott Jag (Our Youth Director) to give us a little information about yourself. It’s very important for us to know who you are, who your parents are, and how to get in contact in case of emergency and to let you know about upcoming events at MYF.

Safety is extremely important to us. Our volunteers are background-checked and trained to create a safe, secure environment for every student.

School Year Schedule —>MYF: High School (9-12th grade) Sunday 6-7:30 pm
& Middle School (6-8th grade) Wednesdays 6-7:30 pm

What We Value

Small Group Relationships

During every MYF experience, students break out into small groups. Life can be difficult and doubts of all kinds can creep in, particularly with teenagers. Having friends and adult leaders is critical to understanding who we are in Christ. Our small group time provides space for students and leaders to talk through tough questions.

Relevant Teaching

Students are faced with very high level questions. Who is God really? What difference does He make in my life? Who am I? What is my purpose? How do I know if I’m making the best decisions? The Bible provides relevant answers to questions like these. Our teaching provides biblical, foundational truth for questions teenagers deal with every day.

Fun

MYF is the perfect place for students to do their favorite things: play games, listen to music, and hang out with friends. There’s always something selfie-worthy or ready to add to a Snapchat or instagram story. Students will definitely want to share what’s happening at MYF.

Students Serving

We believe students are not the leaders of tomorrow, but the leaders of today. Volunteering in the church is one of the best ways for students to make their faith their own. Through @First Youth, students can begin to be the church and develop their leadership while volunteering in the Children’s Ministry, Youth Praise Band help with Sound and video in our main services or so much more.

Adults Serving

Today’s youth will be leading our world tomorrow. It’s important to help them develop a strong foundation of faith and friendships that will help them boldly follow God’s will. Volunteer with @First Youth and help students discover who they can be through Christ.
